Documents You Need for an Education Loan to Study Abroad
An education loan application can stall for weeks simply because a document was missing or incomplete. Preparing the full set in advance is the single biggest thing you can do to speed up approval.
Academic and admission documents
Lenders need your admission or offer letter from the university, along with academic transcripts and standardized test scores (like IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, or GMAT) where applicable. A confirmed admission letter, not just an application submission, is usually required.
Financial and identity documents
You will need KYC documents (PAN, Aadhaar, passport), income proof or bank statements for the co-applicant, and a cost sheet from the university breaking down tuition and living expenses for the full course duration.
Collateral documents, if applicable
For secured loans above a certain amount, lenders will ask for property documents, valuation reports, and encumbrance certificates. Unsecured loans skip this but usually have a lower approval ceiling and a stronger emphasis on the co-applicant's income.
